Do I really need grout for mosaic glass art?
I’m going to make candle holders with small glass tile and am wondering why I need grout with such small pieces of glass. They are going to be very close together. Would the grout really be necessary then? Just wondering. I have no experience with this yet. Thank you.
thank you all. How hard is it to take off the excess grout? Do you do it with a sponge?
Mosaics made with smalti are typically left ungrouted but the pieces of smalti are placed very close together. Stained glass doesn’t have to be grouted either if the sharp edges are dulled with a grinder or other method of softening the edges. Again the pieces of stained glass would be placed very close together.
