What diameters should a round table be to fit 6 and 10 people comfortably?
I have a square dining room and would like to build a round pedastal table to contrast with the shape of the room. I’m going to do a smaller mosaic tabletop(that would seat 4) and cover it with glass. I want two glass (or cheaper material)toppers, one to fit 6 people and one to fit 10 – but am unsure of the size needed. Any suggestions? What size are they at restaurants and weddings?
If you’re thinking of having the table top custom made, I’d consider having the 10-person one be about 7 or 8 feet in diameter. That would give each person about 2.5 feet of elbow room at the table. Similar calculations (# of people x 2.5 feet per person / 3.14159) give about a 5-ft diameter for 6 people. I always like a lot of elbow room, though.
