Using mosaic in ornamental ways has been around for a long time, not just in terms of interior design but also in architectural means. There are three main methods being used in the development of mosaic. The first one is known as the direct method which entails directly placing tesserae onto the surface being used and is the method ideally used when doing smaller projects such mirrors, pictures, and reasonably sized tabletops. Next, the indirect method involves having to prepare the tiles separately before installing the tiles into place, which is used for bigger projects such as fireplaces, floors, and wall projects.
