How many tiles do I need to cover my coffee table?
I want to purchase .75″ mosaic art tiles to cover the top of my rectangular coffee table. The top table face is 35.25″ x 23.5″. I want to know how many WHOLE tiles I would be able to squeeze on it if I had about a 0.08″ gap between the tiles for the grout and an equal amount of space around the outside for the borders. I am terrible at math and this is way out of my league! Please help. Thank you so much.
You will need 992 tiles for your total this is excluding the gap. The reason for excluding the gaps is because you will find unusable tiles in the boxes and you will also have waste . 1 Sheet of tiles is approx. .995 square feet 144 tiles per sheet depending on style. When buying tile always buy more than needed and return whats left. Most home improvement stores sell tiles individually and by the sheet so you can return what you don’t use.
