Stains/marks in porcelain/iron tub?
We have a new Kohler iron tub (undermount) in a porcelain white finish. It is mounted inside a custom tub surround finished in Bisazza glass mosaic tile. Back when the tile guys did the tub deck, they marked up the floor of the tub with the black rubber soles of their shoes, and dropped bits of grout in it as well. This is Bisazza high performance grout,
one of the hardest substances known to man. Not normal cheap grout. Harder than rock. To make a long story short, the shoe marks and bits of grout are embedded in the rough textured floor part of the tub and are almost impossible to remove. I’ve scraped away the bits of grout with a chisel, but it’s left stains in the rough part. Same with the shoe marks. I’ve tried Comet, bleach, Goof-Off, and am ready to try Jasco
paint remover (has acid in it). Again, this is not a normal smooth porcelain surface; it has a textured grip area to keep from slipping on and that is why it is so stubborn. Please recommend a tough-as-hell solution
sorry no real advice but just be real careful what you use … our steel bath with enamel finish was ruining just by bleach. It left the bath with a rough surface (maybe I should post the question??)
